The most thrilling thing about heaven is that Jesus Christ will be there. I will see Him face to face. Jesus Christ will meet us at the end of life’s journey.

The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‘O God, forgive me,’ or ‘Help me.’

The enemy knew he could never defeat love, so he started trying to redefine it instead.

sometimes
saying
“yes”
to God
will break
you.

but
sometimes
we need
to be
broken.

that is
the only
way we
can
be made
again.

so if
everything
around you
and
within you
is
crumbling,
count it
all joy.

my friend,
He is
making
you over.

God never uses anyone greatly until He tests them deeply.

It’s funny how whenever I try to get God to tell me something about a situation, He tells me about Himself.

“What do you want me to know?” I ask.

“I am good,” He answers, “And I am on the throne.”

Because I always think I need to know what’s going to happen, or what I should do, but what I really need is to remember who my God is.

“I know now, Lord, why you utter no answer. You Yourself are the answer.” C. S. Lewis

lovechangeseverythang:

Loneliness is temporary… and yes, for a moment, it is so painful. But despite being lonely, please remember that it doesn’t mean you are alone. God is with you. It’s tough because He cannot physically hold your hand through the rough days, but His promises remain true forever. He has promised to be with us until the very end (Isaiah 41:10). Even the presence of other people cannot completely satisfy you. Even this, is temporary. BUT if we learn to be satisfied in Him alone, our problems become less and less and He becomes more in our lives. We were each born with a hole in our lives that only He can fill.

The only thing I yearn is the applause of the pierced hands.

thesovereignword:

Closeness to God isn’t about the situation you’re in. It’s not about how you feel, or where you’ve been, or what you’ve done. It’s about obedience. How far you’re willing to hear His word and put it into practice. Closeness to God isn’t an emotion, or a memory, or a set of circumstances.

Closeness to God is a daily devotion to do the things He asks of you. It’s that simple.

you have to admit there are some joys in life that can only be felt due to hardship. a common example is steaming hot showers. it takes a cold day, or a sickness, for someone to experience the joy of a hot shower. you can’t enjoy it in the heat. then there’s the joy of a fulfilling sleep, often achieved through a tiring day. and there’s the joy of a reunion, achieved through separation. and there are many more examples. sometimes difficulty carries a special range of joys and that’s something to be thankful about.

Too many are willing to sit at God’s table, but not work on His field.
